Back Porch F/X, LLC is a small Colorado creative studio dedicated to creating special makeup effects for film, television and theatre. In addition to special makeup effects Back Porch F/X also designs and fabricates custom puppets (Tuppets™) miniatures, specialty props, and animatronics for use in corporate communications, commercials, television, motion pictures, theatre, and in commercial venues such as restaurants, cruise ships and theme parks.

Back Porch F/X also offers workshops, seminars and curricula teaching character design, lifecasting, sculpting, mold making, fabricating and application of prosthetic appliances.

We believe that it is our job to provide not only what our clients request but what they need, be it someone wanting to ‘wow’ the socks off people at a Halloween costume party or the makeup department head of a major motion picture; as professionals, it is our responsibility to offer our clients the best possible advice regarding their project, particularly if it requires offering a more efficient, less expensive approach. We are in this industry because we can’t not do it; this is our passion. This is who we are.

Our ‘Job One’ is to provide the correct tools for a performer to deliver a completely believable character performance. It's never about the makeup; it's always about the performance.
